The students made great progress over the school year. It is important fo them to continue to practice over the summer. The students need to read and write at least a few days each week to keep their skills up. One way is to go on Tumblebooks. It is one of the links on my page. The user name is carriedownie and the password is books. All the students have been using this at school so they can show you how it works.
We have a lot of activities going on now to the end of the year. We are working on taking the End of the Year Benchmark Test in Harcourt. On May 28th we have SMART KIDS DAY. On May 29th we have FIELD DAY. Parents are welcome to come and help out. The last student day is June 3rd.
The students have been very busy with their unit in Science. We are studying plants and animals. Your child has already brought home a plant over the Spring Break to take care of. We also have some plants we are studying in class. On April 20 the district is having a Science Fair. Six of our students work will be displayed. We will be getting some fish soon so we can study how animals live in the water.
